About the Birds and the Teas
Our local weather
My name is Lorraine Morris, founder of The Birds and the Teas. I have been drinking tea since I was four years old and it all started with my maternal grandmother. She lived with us and watched me while my mother worked. I thoroughly enjoyed our tea time. I’ve been drinking tea ever since. Tea has been a constant in my life. It represents a lot more to me than just something to drink.
My husband had a steady tea influence in his life, too. His paternal grandparents came to the US from the UK. He has fond memories of his grandparents and tea (and scones!).
My previous career was in the environmental field, but I decided it was time to follow my bliss. I truly believe if you love what you do, you will succeed. I love drinking tea, talking about tea, reading about tea, shopping for tea, sharing tea, and teaching people about tea.
I especially enjoy having people over for tea. I always serve quality tea, but it usually isn’t a fussy occasion. On occasion, it is fun to use the good china and serve elegant food but overall, I’m not a formal kind of person. I prefer my tea casual and relaxed.
What do we have to offer?
Quality tea at great prices! I guarantee the tea you buy from my company is quality tea at reasonable prices. I will continue to search for the best tea available.
Also, I will offer quality tea accessories. Some accessories are more form than function. The accessories I sell are not just pretty to look at, they really work. They are the best I’ve found to use when making tea. I have several teapots, but I don’t use many of them on a regular basis. However, my Chatsford teapots are rarely put away.
I’m always open to learning something new, so if you have a favorite tea accessory that works like a dream, I’d like to hear about it.
Why the name, The Birds and The Teas?
Once I made the decision to take the plunge, I started thinking about the name. My husband and I enjoy birding. Also, I enjoy reading and have always appreciated books with titles that include a play on words. The name just came to me.
